OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Palestinian public officials are holding a sit-in at the Jerusalem Red Cross said they have received a court date on May 17 to review Israeli orders of banishing them from their native city of Jerusalem.
The men Ahmed Attoun and Mohammed Totah, both members of the Palestinian Legislative Council, and Khalid Abu Arafa, a former PA government minister, have been taking refuge for the last ten months after being ordered out of the city after they were elected into office in 2006.
The news came during a phone call Monday between the men and the Free PLC Members rights group.
Attoun warned that the Jerusalemites were paying the price for recent Palestinian unity, as he expressed fear of being banished through Israeli occupation court decisions.
He also warned that the Israeli court might issue decisions that violate their national and civil rights as well as their right to live in their native occupied city.
