Russia asks Israel to prove its arms were used in bus attack

MOSCOW, (PIC)-- Russia has questioned Israeli claims that Russian weapons were used by Gaza Strip resistance forces to hit Israeli targets along the border.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov said that the overuse of claims that Russian weapons were used against Israel has prompted Russia to demand that Israel present proof.

Israeli sources claimed Hamas in Gaza used Russian-built anti-tank missiles to strike a bus that traveled between various military points on April 7. Hamas's armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, has claimed the attack that injured two Israelis, one of them critically.

Saltanov denied statements by Israel's ambassador to Russia Dorit Golender that the arms Russia supplies to Syria could fall into the hands of resistance forces. ”These statements need proof,” he said.

He insisted when signing an arms deal with third countries, Moscow retained the right to inspect at any moment where the weapons would end up.

The Israeli occupation forces have killed in the past few days 18 Palestinians in response to the strike that wounded two Jewish settlers in the bus attack east of Gaza, which was in itself a retaliation to earlier Israeli occupation attacks.
