RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Abbas’s militia kidnapped Majed al-Nouri and his nephew Hazem al-Nouri, in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem, one day after they returned from their pilgrimage trip to Makkah under the pretext that they met with pilgrims from the Gaza Strip during their pilgrimage.

Tulkarem residents condemned these repressive acts by “Fatah’s gangs” according to the Ajnad website which quoted a Tulkarem resident as saying: “since when was meeting with compatriots during Hajj [pilgrimage] a crime? He added that Abbas’s authority always announces that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip are one land, but these practices say otherwise, so is what is said for the media different from reality on the ground?

The Ajnad site also published a number of incidents where the returning pilgrims were mistreated by Abbas’s militia, including humiliating searches of elderly pilgrims claiming that the militia was looking for cash that Hamas has allegedly given to pilgrims to carry to the West Bank.

Pilgrims from the West Bank were asking if the West Bank pilgrims’ mission has become a security one where the pilgrims are supposed to become spies for Abbas’s authority?

There are many elderly people who seek a chance to perform pilgrimage before they die, but they lose their places to members of militia the purpose of whom is to spy on pilgrims rather than perform pilgrimage, commented some elderly West Bankers who were denied Hajj this year.
