Ahmadinejad Hails Lebanon, Warns Israel of Any Adventure

14/10/2010 On the first day of his planned two-day visit to Lebanon, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad praised the country as the “School of resistance against tyrants” describing Israel as the “embodiment of the deception of capitalist world order and materialistic ideas.”

During joint Hezbollah and Amal movement rally at the Al-Raya Stadium in Beirut’s southern suburbs (Dahiyeh) on Wednesday, Ahmadinejad said that any new adventure by the Zionist entity will only be of use in shortening its lifespan hailing Lebanon as “the university of heroism and jihad for the sake of the holy humanitarian goals.”

“The only solution to the Palestinian issue is for the invaders (Israelis) of the occupied land to leave, and give the Palestinians their rights and return all the refugees to their original land,” Ahmadinejad said. He called on the United Nations to carry out its mission and force Israel to abide by the international laws and resolutions.

“Arrogant hegemonic powers used the sinful hand of treachery in Lebanon to reach a dear friend and a dignitary who was loyal to his country,” the Iranian President said in a reference to assassinated former Prime Minister Martyr Rafik Hariri. “Then accused another remaining friend in order to sow division, and then we see how reports get fabricated,” Ahmadinejad added.

Ahmadinejad, whose eyes were full of love, joy and tears when he saw the emotional crowd cheering for him, reiterated Iran’s commitment to the Lebanese people and thanked President Michel Sleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister Saad Hariri for the meetings and agreements they worked on together.

He also thanked “the dear warrior and scholar Sayyed Nasrallah.”

The Iranian leader added that the enemy does not want to see regional countries united and said Israel is trying to disrupt relations between Lebanon and Syria in particular.

Ahmadinejad also called for the “formation of an independent and neutral team to examine the facts and discover the truth of the September 11 events,” adding that the events were “executed through premeditated planning for the sake of expansionist goals.”

“The best exit for the occupiers of Afghanistan and Iraq is to leave the region, apologize to its peoples, and compensate for losses,” he indicated.

“Our world today is at the gateway of major change, whose elements have started to emerge from our region,” added Ahmadinejad, who refused to deliver speech from behind bullet proof glass.

He declared that “a resistance front has been formed by the peoples of Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Iraq and all the region.” “No doubt that anyone who recognizes Israel will become isolated and condemned by the people of this region,” Ahmadinejad said.

The president called for the release of four Iranian diplomats kidnapped in Lebanon during the 1982 Israeli invasion. “We have confirmed information that those four Iranian diplomats are now in Israeli jails and we want them to be released,” he added.

Hezbollah secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah greeted Ahmadinejad via video link and thanked him for his support.
